Before coming to Cambridge, I did postdocs at Yale University (Steven Girvin) and the University of Basel (Christoph Bruder). Before that, I did a DPhil at the University of Oxford supervised by Keith Burnett and supported by the Rhodes Trust. Before that, I read physics at Bonn University, spent time in Uppsala, and wrote my diploma with Pierre Meystre at the University of Arizona.
