Twice a year, NanoDTC students take part in a week-long, programme-wide retreat — the Autumn School at the start of the academic year and the Spring School midway through. These events bring together all current and associate students, alongside academic staff, to learn, exchange ideas, and strengthen community links. Typically held outside the UK in partnership with a local host university, the Schools are designed to spark fresh thinking, foster research collaborations, and encourage open, cross-disciplinary dialogue within the programme and beyond.
