Where the NanoDTC leads
Our alumni pursue a diverse range of exciting and impactful careers, reflecting the interdisciplinary training and entrepreneurial spirit of the NanoDTC.
Where do our graduates go?
Roughly a third go into academia, continuing into research and teaching roles at leading institutions worldwide. Another third enter science-related industry, taking on high-level positions in cutting-edge companies where they contribute to innovation and scientific discovery. The remaining third go on to create impact through their own unique paths. This include founding startups and working at the intersection of science and entrepreneurship across emerging sectors.
NanoFuture Leadership Awards
The NanoFutures Leadership (NFL) Awards stimulate and support graduating PhD students in carrying out projects beyond their PhD to enable the translation of cutting edge nanoscience research to higher Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), or to explore pathways for environmentally or socially relevant impact. The award forms one of the many ways in which NanoDTC supports students in exploring wider innovation opportunities, including start-ups.
