I was born and raised in Italy, where I fell in love with the beauty of Chemistry since my years at secondary school, when I used to quantify the acetic acid in the locally produced balsamic vinegar of my hometown. My passion for problem-solving in Chemistry flourished after I competed in the International Chemistry Olympiads in 2016 and 2017.

I pursued my education in Chemistry at the University of Padova, where I graduated in 2022. During my undergraduate studies, I carried out research projects on photocatalysis at the Donostia International Physics Center in Donostia-San Sebastian, the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam, and the Institute of Photonic Sciences in Castelldefels. I worked with plasmonic nanoparticles, heterogeneous carbon nitrides and homogenous iron complexes.

At the moment, I am a PhD candidate in the Reisner Lab, where I am in search of the best photoelectrochemical device to achieve artificial photosynthesis.

PhD supervisors: Erwin Reisner, Sam Stranks

Research topic:  Photoelectrochemical Devices for Solar to Chemical Energy Conversion
