My PhD project, joint between the Department of Physics and the Deparment of Plant Sciences, focused on exploiting DNA Nanotechnology approaches for biomimicry purposes, where I worked with model membranes and biologically active material towards novel sensing platforms for the artificial cell initiative. I am particularly interested in replicating life-like behaviours in model systems by harnessing knowledge, techniques, and expertise from soft matter physics and synthetic biology.
