Ryan Greenhalgh has experience in a range of interdisciplinary science from physics to biology to computer science. He was a fully funded EPSRC student on the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology program. His PhD research focused on the physics behind how the eyes connect to the brain during development with Prof. Kristian Franze and Prof. Ulrich Keyser. Previously, he completed his undergraduate in Material Science and Engineering at the University of Manchester. During his undergraduate he worked on materials to promote bone and soft tissue regeneration that resulted in several publications. He also spent a year at a medical device company working on the clinical translation of a surgical haemostat. PhD Supervisors: Prof. Kristian Franze– Department of  Physiology, Development, and Neuroscience and Prof. Ulrich Keyser– Department of Physics

Research Topic: The role of viscoelasticity in axon guidance
