I graduated in Physics from the University of York in 2024, currently pursuing a PhD at University of Cambridge in the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy in the Electron Microscopy Group.
During my undergraduate studies, I worked in the York JEOL Nanocentre, where I gained experience in electron and probe microscopy characterization of conductive polymers for applications in force-sensing devices. At the same time I undertook the NanoDTC NanoFutures internship programme, through which I gained practical experience in fabricating battery materials. These experiences inspired my interest in pursuing a PhD that builds on materials characterization of energy-based devices.
For this reason I am currently pursuing my PhD focusing on the characterization of supercapacitor devices using various electron microscopy techniques to understand fundamental adsorption mechanisms and electrical properties for the enhancement of the performance of these devices.
Outside my research I enjoy taking long walks and spending my evenings reading books, playing board games, or cooking if I’m hungry. Feel free to reach out about anything, PhD related or tips on what to see around Cambridge!
