I completed a Master of Chemical Physics with Honours at the University of Edinburgh, where my thesis studied correlations between optical and structural properties of molecular semiconductors.  My project is focused on studying the magneto-optical properties of new materials for quantum photonics applications. I’m based in Quantum Optical Materials and Systems (Atomic and Molecular Physics Group, Department of Physics) and StranksLab (Optoelectronics Group, Dept of Physics/Dept of Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology). Beyond research, I’m very interested in science journalism, outreach, and policy. I write popular science articles, co-host and co-produce the Bluesci Podcast for the Cambridge University Science Magazine, and am an editor for the Cambridge Journal of Science and Policy, as well serving on the committee of the Cambridge University Science and Policy Exchange. PhD Supervisors: Prof. Mete Atatüre – Department of Physics and Dr. Samuel Stranks– Department of Physics and – Department of Chemical Engineering

Research Topic: Magneto-optical properties of new quantum emitters
