Funding

Full funding (fees + maintenance) EPSRC studentships are normally available to UK students who are accepted on to our MRes+PhD programme. EU students who have lived the UK for the past three years are also eligible for full EPSRC funding at present.

A large number of additional funding sources are available to EU, Overseas and UK students. These include, but are not limited to competitive scholarship programmes such as the Gates Cambridge Scholarship and other University based scholarships, as well as full or partial funding From NanoDTC industry partners. No separate application is normally needed for these scholarships, but you must tick the relevant boxes on your main application for admission, even if you don't provide any supporting reasons in the space provided.

Women from developing countries are also encouraged to apply for the Schlumberger Faculty for the Future programme, the deadline for which is 4th Nov 2019.

Applicants from Commonwealth countries  are also encouraged to apply to the Commonwealth Scholarship – country-wide details are available on http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/applicants/ .

US citizens interested in applying for the Gates Scholarship https://www.gatescambridge.org must do so by 9th October 2019. This means that the completed application along with references and other supporting documents should be received by us by this date. US citizens can still be eligible for other University based scholarships if they apply by the Dec/Jan deadlines.

In addition to University based scholarships, US citizens might also consider consider applying for a Marshall Scholarship http://www.marshallscholarship.org/ , the deadline for which is 30 September 2019. Please note that the Marshall Scholarship will have to be used in conjunction with other scholarships from the University or other sources as Marshall funding is normally available only for two years.
