On 27 and 28 May 2021, the NanoDTC hosted a sustainability themed podcast workshop for students for students from Colombian Universities and Cambridge. The workshop organisation was led by Ryan Greenhalgh (c2017) and Dr James Dolan. Speakers included Dr Mauricio Diazgranados, a Colombian Biodiversity expert based at Kew Gardens, Prof. Julian Allwood, Professor of Engineering and the Environment at the University of Cambridge and members of the Mind Over Chatter podcast team from Cambridge. The Colombian Embassy in the UK , including ambassador Antonio José Ardila and Attaché Rosario Elena Herrera Villazón provided strong support, particularly with getting excellent engagement from the Colombian side.
The workshop helped open up perspectives on sustainability and sustainability related research for participants from both sides. Pairs of participants (one each from Cambridge and Colombia) will be producing short podcasts based on their work and mutual interactions.
